Overview
The Francis Parker Collegiate Staff Portal is a comprehensive digital workspace designed to simplify the day-to-day operations of a school. Drawing on my firsthand experience as an educator, I developed this concept to explore how a unified platform could improve communication, streamline administrative responsibilities, and give staff easier access to essential school resources — combining a traditional academic identity with a contemporary, minimalist interface.
The problem
School operations are often spread across disconnected systems. Teachers are responsible for far more than classroom instruction: they communicate with colleagues, attend meetings, prepare curriculum materials, complete reports, submit documentation and manage administrative requirements. When these responsibilities are handled through separate channels, spreadsheets and applications, everyday tasks become unnecessarily complicated — announcements scatter, processes repeat, deadlines slip and documentation eats into teaching time.
The solution
One connected workspace for the entire school community. A personalized dashboard provides an overview of announcements, schedules, deadlines and quick actions, while dedicated modules support school announcements, the integrated calendar, teaching timetables, staff attendance, leave management, curriculum planning, document submissions and monthly student comments. Parker AI adds another layer of assistance — helping teachers draft communications, prepare lesson plans, refine written content and develop educational resources directly within the portal.
