Overview

OVERT is a self-initiated fashion-focused e-commerce project I conceptualized, designed and developed to explore a more expressive approach to online retail. Its central idea is that fashion is experienced as a complete look, not simply a collection of individual products. An editorial feed introduces curated outfits through photography, while a product library, interactive shopping interfaces and an administrative workspace connect visual storytelling with practical retail functionality.

Editorial discovery and the OVERT Library — complete looks sit alongside a monochromatic catalog of individual pieces.

The problem

Conventional product grids make specific items easy to find but often separate fashion inspiration from purchasing. Customers discover a complete outfit, then have to locate each garment individually. Independent brands also need a distinctive identity while managing products, stock, customers, orders and promotions. The challenge was to create a store that feels like a luxury fashion editorial without losing the clarity of a functional commerce platform.

The solution

I built OVERT around curated editorial looks that act as interactive collections. Customers discover a look, explore its garments and accessories, choose sizes and colors, then add individual pieces or an entire ensemble to their bag. A separate library supports direct product browsing. Behind the storefront, a coordinated administration system organizes looks, products, inventory information, customer records, orders and discount codes.

From Inspiration to Shopping Bag

Discover → Explore → Customize → Add to Bag → Checkout. The customer journey moves from editorial photography to the pieces that form a look, then to size and color selection and a clear purchase summary. The feed provides inspiration; the library offers direct discovery. Product interactions remain compact and accessible so the shopping controls support the imagery rather than interrupting it.

Commerce management — a coordinated dashboard, product catalog and order workspace for the operations behind the storefront.

Two Interfaces, One Commerce Platform

The storefront and administration workspace serve different needs within one visual identity. The customer experience prioritizes photography, styling and interaction; the management environment prioritizes organized information, inventory visibility and operational clarity. Connecting editorial looks with individual products, pricing and stock was central to the product design. Reporting and discount tools provide a foundation for managing commercial activity without claiming verified sales performance.

Visual Design & Brand Identity

Minimal by design. Bold by nature. OVERT uses monochromatic photography, dramatic contrast, restrained sans-serif typography and generous negative space. An O-shaped monogram and a widely spaced uppercase wordmark establish its visual signature. Obsidian black, charcoal, graphite, muted silver and editorial white keep the focus on fashion photography and product composition. The statement ‘Presence is everything’ expresses the brand’s emphasis on personal style and a carefully composed appearance.

Fashion-tech identity — the OVERT monogram, monochrome palette and editorial interface language across shopping and administration.

My Development Approach & Outcome

I defined the concept and creative direction, designed the visual system and user journeys, developed the interactive storefront and created the commerce-management environment. The central challenge was preserving an editorial identity across conventional retail requirements. As a portfolio project, OVERT brings together my interests in fashion, photography, digital branding and consumer-facing application development, demonstrating how expressive design and business-oriented functionality can coexist.
